David Estrada

Interim Executive Director

David Estrada currently serves as Interim Executive Director of the Texas Retailers Association, where he leads the organization’s advocacy, member engagement, and strategic initiatives on behalf of Texas’ retail industry. Prior to assuming this role, David served as TRA’s Director of External Affairs, overseeing government relations outreach and strengthening partnerships with retailers, policymakers, and business leaders across the state.

Before joining TRA, David built his career in Texas state government, serving in the Office of the Speaker of the Texas House of Representatives before transitioning to the Texas Senate, where he worked for the Senate Natural Resources & Economic Development Committee. His experience in both chambers of the Legislature provided a strong foundation in public policy, economic development, and the legislative process.

David earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Texas State University, graduating Magna Cum Laude. He remains committed to advancing policies that support Texas retailers and contribute to a strong and competitive business climate throughout the state.

Gary Huddleston

Grocery Industry Consultant

Gary’s career spanned 45 years at Kroger Food stores including store management, human resources, labor relations, public affairs, media relations and charitable giving.

Gary graduated from Texas State University with a BBA and has completed continuing education in Human Resource Management at the University of Texas Austin, Penn State University, and Duke University. Gary has served on several charitable Boards including the North Texas Food Bank, Goodwill Industries of Dallas, and the Houston Museum of Natural Science. Currently, he sits on the Board of Southwest Federal Credit Union and Dallas radio station KCBI. Gary and his wife, Becky, have two grown children and four grandchildren.
