Bill Tracking

This section of our website is active when the state Legislature is in Session.  Texas Retailers Association tracks legislation in 28 different categories ranging from Alcoholic Beverage to Credit to Taxation to Workers' Compensation using a customized legislative tracking service to stay on top of the issues important to our members. 

During the 81st Texas Legislative Session, TRA tracked more than 1327 pieces of legislation,  Some of these bills benefited retailers. However, most were harmful to your business. TRA worked with the bill sponsors to amend the bills so that they benefited your business, or worked hard to defeat those pieces of legislation that would damage your business.
